No \"Next\" button after install folder specified

SYMPTOMS
The installer requests that an install location (folder) be specified.

However, after the folder is specified and whether the folder is specified manually or by browsing to it, the Next button never becomes active, effectively blocking completion of the install.

CAUSE
The root cause of this issue is unknown and is under active investigation.

While the root cause is currently unknown, in all known cases it was discovered that WMI was NOT functioning properly on the machine in question.

RESOLUTION
In all known cases of this issue, it was found that WMI was not functioning properly on the target machine, and that repairing WMI unblocked the installation.

WMI is a set of Windows system services that can be used to determine state information about the target machine and etc.

If WMI is not functioning properly on a machine, it might and in some cases (such as the present case) does cause any number of (potential) issues.

Please proceed to the KB article \"WMI problems and fixes\" and follow the directions there to diagnose potential WMI problems and fix them.

If, after doing so the Installer problem persists or for further assistance, please contact Technical Support.

MORE INFORMATION
Having a broken WMI system component has also been known to cause other installation errors, such as a failure to detect a network interface card (NIC), etc.

WMI is a Microsoft Windows system service. The information in this and related articles is provided as a service to our customers.

For further information about or assistance with WMI or other Windows system components, please contact your system administrator, Microsoft, or other support entities.
